The Dishwasher role at Sunrise Senior Living is a vital position within the Dining Services team. This role entails the responsibility of maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all areas associated with food production and consumption—including the kitchen, dining room, bistro, private dining rooms, serveries, and pantries. The Dishwasher ensures that all dishware, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment are washed, sanitized, and stored correctly according to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines. This includes operating dish machines, maintaining equipment logs, cleaning kitchen appliances, and assisting with food storage and rotation. Beyond cleaning duties, the Dishwasher position also involves janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, washing walls and ceilings, and emptying trash to maintain a safe, orderly, and hygienic kitchen and dining environment. Dishwashers support the overall dining experience by sometimes assisting with light food preparation, plating, and serving meals according to standardized recipes. They are also responsible for compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and the use of personal protective equipment to ensure a safe workplace.
