East End Veterinary Center (EEVC) is a leading veterinary emergency hospital located in Riverhead, New York, committed to providing exceptional care to pets and their families around the clock. As part of Ethos Veterinary Health, a nationwide network of over 140 specialty and emergency hospitals, EEVC benefits from a community of more than 1,500 specialized doctors who manage the health of nearly 2 million pets annually. Known for its innovative approach and world-class medicine, Ethos Veterinary Health brings together state-of-the-art technology, a scientific, evidence-based approach, and compassionate care to set the standard for veterinary excellence. At EEVC, the focus is on delivering a superior client experience while ensuring optimal medical attention is administered to every emergency case. The role of a Veterinary Triage Coordinator (Client Liaison) at EEVC is an integral position that acts as the vital communication link between clients and veterinary professionals during emergency visits. This full-time role offers a competitive salary ranging from $22 to $25 per hour, depending on knowledge and experience, with a schedule that consists of four 10-hour shifts, including three weekdays and one weekend shift. The Veterinary Triage Coordinator is the first point of contact for clients arriving at the emergency center, responsible for providing concierge-level support while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, emotionally sensitive environment. In this position, you will be tasked with delivering warm, knowledgeable customer service both in person and over the phone, ensuring that pet owners feel supported and cared for during what can be a stressful time. You will professionally document medical records, assist with estimates and invoices collaboratively with Doctors of Veterinary Medicine (DVMs), and provide triage support and patient assessments upon arrival. Additionally, the role involves offering basic animal restraint and veterinary assistance when needed, requiring a calm and caring demeanor and strong multitasking skills. Working at EEVC means becoming part of a friendly and inclusive culture that values mutual respect, kindness, and professional growth. The team-oriented atmosphere encourages happiness and health in body, mind, and spirit, with flexible leave policies and mental health support as part of the commitment to employee well-being. New team members undergo a comprehensive onboarding process to set them up for success and benefit from ongoing mentorship and monthly team introductions that foster camaraderie and a sense of community. EEVC strongly believes in empowering its team members through autonomy and initiative, supporting professional development via a structured career path program. Whether you aim to advance within the emergency department or transition to other specialties, EEVC provides the resources and encouragement needed to help you achieve your career goals. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, emotionally rewarding environment and who are passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and their owners. At EEVC, full-time employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes a continuing education (CE) allowance, uniform allowance, paid time off, specialized RECOVER training, premium pay for holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, a 401k plan with employer match, employee pet discounts, and access to professional development resources like VetBloom and VetGirl. Additional perks include partnerships with Penn Foster Veterinary Technology program offering scholarships, license application and renewal reimbursement for licensed veterinary technicians, financial support and onsite mentorship for those pursuing Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) certification, VTNE exam reimbursement, and a fully stocked kitchen with snacks and beverages. One distinctive advantage is the dedicated employee pet area where staff are welcome to bring their own pets to work, reinforcing the deep bond between the team and animal care. EEVC and Ethos Veterinary Health maintain a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, offering equal employment opportunities regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, or other protected statuses. This role requires fluent English language skills for effective communication and documentation. If you are ready to be the calm voice of reassurance and support during emergency situations, join EEVC's exceptional emergency team and contribute to world-class veterinary care in a collaborative and empowering environment.
