The role of Receptionist at Cathedral Parish School is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting directly to the Principal. The receptionist supports the school’s spiritual and pastoral mission by providing various receptionist and administrative duties to ensure smooth daily operations. This role is vital in creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere for students, parents, faculty, and visitors. Under the direction of the School Principal or Office Manager, the receptionist is responsible for handling incoming telephone calls with courtesy, managing mail distribution, maintaining sign-in logs and attendance records, scheduling calendar requests, and providing general support to school and parish staff. The receptionist also plays a key role in processing paperwork, handling payments, maintaining records in the student information system, and ensuring clear and effective communication within the school community. This position demands an individual with a strong commitment to Catholic principles, professionalism, and a high level of organizational skill. The receptionist must act in alignment with the Catholic Church’s morals and ethics both in professional and private conduct, supporting the spiritual mission of the school. The role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with staff and faculty, and proficiency in computer technology including word processing, spreadsheets, and internet research. The position also requires an ability to maintain confidentiality, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and exhibit punctuality and a professional demeanor. Candidates are expected to have experience as a receptionist and the ability to handle various clerical responsibilities while maintaining a welcoming environment for visitors and callers.
