U-Haul is a pioneering company that has been serving do-it-yourself movers and households across the United States and Canada since 1945. Founded by L.S. "Sam" Shoen and Anna Mary Carty Shoen, U-Haul was conceived out of the widespread post-World War II need for accessible moving equipment available on a one-way nationwide basis. By offering a unique cost-sharing ownership model, U-Haul transformed the mobility of populations by providing affordable moving solutions. From the iconic orange trailers to a full range of moving and storage services, U-Haul has cultivated decades of trust, innovation, and community focus. This commitment to service excellence has established the company as a leader in the moving and storage industry that values health, wellness, and employee growth.
Joining U-Haul as a U-Box Customer Care Representative (CCR) with a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) means becoming part of a caring company culture while embarking on new career opportunities. The CCR role is multifaceted, combining customer care with local delivery responsibilities. This position offers a rewarding blend of driving, client interaction, and hands-on operational tasks involving U-Box storage containers. As a CCR, you will operate flatbed trucks and forklifts after training to load, unload, and transport storage units efficiently and safely. You will be the face of U-Haul to customers by providing friendly, courteous service, ensuring their experience with U-Box containers meets or exceeds expectations. The work schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the commitment to customer needs on a flexible basis. Compensation for this role starts at $22.00 per hour, depending on experience.
This role requires not only a skilled CDL driver but also a proactive learner who will engage in continuous education through U-Haul University. Physical demands include working indoors and outdoors, undertaking moderate physical exertion such as moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, and using protective gear as necessary in environments involving machinery and chemicals. U-Haul also emphasizes safety precautions to minimize risks associated with the role. Beyond the technical and physical aspects of the job, the CCR position offers career stability and advancement opportunities in a company celebrated for its supportive work environment.
U-Haul offers its employees a robust suite of benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance plans for eligible team members, a 401(k) savings plan, life insurance, and participation in an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP). Wellness programs such as gym reimbursements and access to physician services for children are also included. Additional perks include paid holidays, vacation and sick days for eligible employees, legal support through MetLaw, and discounts on popular consumer products and services. U-Haul actively supports financial literacy and protection by providing identity theft protection and access to Dave Ramsey's SmartDollar financial education program.
This job opportunity reflects U-Haul's dedication to providing stable, meaningful employment with an emphasis on employee well-being and development. The company operates as an equal opportunity employer and offers accommodations during the hiring process to ensure inclusivity.
