The role of Training and Events Coordinator at Metronet is a vital position within the company’s human resources and organizational development functions. This full-time position is designed to support the successful delivery of internal training programs and company events that enhance employee engagement, leadership development, and business performance. The Training and Events Coordinator manages the logistics and communications for both virtual and in-person training sessions and corporate events, including leadership development workshops, new hire training, technical training, team meetings, and broader company meetings.
Key responsibilities include scheduling, venue coordination, catering arrangements, and technical setup for training sessions and events. The coordinator plays a crucial role as the first point of contact for training inquiries, providing excellent customer service to associates by answering questions and communicating essential information. Additionally, this role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners to create and update training materials such as handouts, PowerPoints, eLearning modules, and promotional content, ensuring effective knowledge transfer within the organization.
The coordinator also serves as a virtual event producer and technical support specialist, handling the setup and management of virtual meetings via platforms like Microsoft Teams. Duties include managing breakout rooms, monitoring polling, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring a seamless virtual experience for all participants. After events and trainings, the coordinator collects feedback and tracks metrics to measure effectiveness and guide continuous improvement initiatives. Maintaining training records within the Learning Management System (LMS) is another critical function, along with recommending innovative approaches to enhance training and event planning processes.
