The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division plays a vital role in supporting the university’s mission by overseeing event management, hospitality services, and customer experience initiatives. The Hospitality department specifically manages dining and catering functions aimed at enriching the campus life experience through exceptional service. Currently, UOES is seeking Temporary Servers to join the team at Rohr’s and Legends, two of Notre Dame’s on-campus dining venues. This role is a contract position designed to meet the flexible needs of the university’s hospitality operations. As a Temporary Server in Notre Dame’s Hospitality department, you will be the frontline ambassador of the dining experience, responsible for delivering prompt, courteous, and professional service to all guests. Your role involves greeting patrons warmly, explaining menu offerings, accurately taking and processing orders, and ensuring the highest standards of food and beverage service throughout the meal. The position demands strong interpersonal skills, optimism, empathy, and integrity, as well as the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Servers must be able to maintain standing for extended periods and adhere strictly to food safety and handling procedures. In addition to serving food and beverages, you will be expected to manage cash and payment transactions accurately and handle logistical tasks such as carrying trays between the kitchen, dining rooms, and bar areas. • High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in a hospitality or customer service role preferred
• Must be at least the minimum legal age to serve alcohol in Indiana
• Ability to stand for extended periods up to 6 hours
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
• Must be able to obtain a bartending license if required
