Piggly Wiggly plays a critical role in delivering fresh, high-quality baked goods to our customers. We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Bakery Associate who will report directly to the Bakery Department Manager. This role is fundamental to ensuring that all bakery products are baked, processed, packaged, and displayed according to our high standards and departmental requirements. The Bakery Associate will perform a variety of baking functions efficiently and timely, contributing to the overall success of the bakery and the store as a whole. The ideal candidate will have previous bakery experience and possess the ability to operate within a fast-paced retail grocery-bakery environment. They must be self-directed, results oriented, and demonstrate a positive business image that sets a leading example for fellow team members. Attention to detail, strong follow-through skills, and excellent customer relations are vital to succeeding in this role. Candidates must be comfortable working with weights, measures, scales, and retail price tallying, along with performing basic computer entries. Working safely and efficiently in accordance with the bakery’s procedures and policies is a must, including operating department equipment which requires individuals to be at least 18 years old for certain machines. Flexibility in work hours is essential as this position includes the possibility of shift schedules, overtime, and weekend work. The role also demands the ability to work in a physical environment with constant exposure to cooler temperatures and water, meeting the required physical standards. Maintaining productivity, punctuality, attendance, and wearing appropriate safety attire are important expectations. Joining Fox Bros.
