The Communications Coordinator role at Air Methods Communications is a dynamic, fast-paced position essential for the smooth execution of air medical transportation missions. The individual in this role serves as the primary liaison between various stakeholders, including aircraft flight crews, pre-hospital healthcare professionals such as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and receiving hospital staff. As part of a team operating 12-hour shifts with night shifts commencing at 5 PM, this position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm and organized under pressure. The hourly rate for this role starts at $21 to $22 per hour, corresponding to an annual salary range from approximately $42,700 to $61,800, reflecting experience and qualifications. Responsibilities include managing all flight coordination data entries, ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, following aircraft from takeoff to landing, and relaying critical flight and patient information accurately. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for handling incoming calls from various parties, coordinating between health care providers and receiving institutions, and facilitating communications between internal Communications Specialists and external agencies. The role also includes training responsibilities for new employees, maintaining adherence to AirCom's policies, and ensuring clear, precise communication critical to patient outcomes and operational safety.
