The role of Sous Chef at Parkhurst Dining is vital to upholding the company's high culinary standards and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. The sous chef assists the culinary team by overseeing food production across all kitchen stations and supervising hourly team members. This role demands a focus on maintaining quality, quantity, and timeliness of all meal production while strictly adhering to Parkhurst’s food safety programs. The sous chef plays a significant role in maintaining the Culinary Gold standards endorsed by Parkhurst Dining, which cover all aspects of food production, sanitation, employee management, safety protocols, and quality control.
In addition to supervising daily kitchen operations, the sous chef supports the executive chef in various administrative tasks, including planning, budgeting, costing, inventory management, and employee relations. The sous chef’s responsibilities extend to menu development, execution of new recipes, inventory control, and overseeing the cleanliness and safety of kitchen facilities. - Three or more years of culinary experience
