The Sous Chef position at The Kessler Collection is a vital leadership role within the culinary department. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef oversees the daily culinary operations across the restaurant, room service, and catering functions. This role demands a strategic and inspiring professional who can maintain high standards for food quality, operational efficiency, and profitability. Handling everything from menu development assistance to inventory monitoring and staff training, the Sous Chef ensures that culinary output consistently meets the company’s exacting standards and guest expectations. The position necessitates hands-on leadership to direct kitchen staff and uphold a clean, safe, and organized working environment. - Culinary degree or related training required
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience required
- Experience within luxury brand or market preferred
- Food Safety Manager Certification preferred or must be attained within 30 days
- Ability to work varied schedules including over 40 hours per week
- Must be comfortable working in a shared, noisy environment
- Ability to work safely in high-temperature kitchen environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines
