The role of a Restaurant Server within Highgate Hotels is pivotal in delivering an exceptional guest experience. This hourly position requires an individual who is attentive, courteous, and efficient in servicing guests’ food and beverage needs. The Restaurant Server acts as the face of the hospitality experience, responsible for taking orders, delivering them accurately and promptly, ensuring tables are maintained clean and stocked, and ultimately contributing to guest satisfaction. This position demands familiarity with the restaurant's layout, menu, and specials, as well as proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems.
The Restaurant Server's duties include managing multiple tables while maintaining a warm, friendly demeanor and a professional appearance aligned with Highgate’s standards. This role requires working flexible hours, often involving long shifts that necessitate physical stamina and the ability to carry full trays and lift items. The ideal candidate must possess strong communication skills, be capable of handling guest concerns effectively, and contribute positively to team productivity. By consistently upselling food, beverages, and promotional items and delivering seamless service, the Restaurant Server plays an essential role in ensuring guests enjoy a memorable dining experience, reinforcing Highgate Hotels’ reputation for excellence in hospitality.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a hotel or related field preferred
- Ability to work flexible and long hours
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
- Ability to stand and move throughout the dining area during shifts
- Effective communication skills
