The role of a Cook at The Delaney at Lake Waco is an exciting and meaningful position within the Community Culinary Services Department. This full-time opportunity offers a competitive pay rate of $18 per hour and involves hands-on production cooking where quality, presentation, and food safety are paramount. The Cook is responsible for preparing menu cycle programs that meet the nutritional and dietary standards required by local regulations and community policies. This role requires a high level of cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food quality standards at all times, ensuring every meal served meets the community’s expectations. In this position, the Cook will exhibit speed, accuracy, and efficiency while showcasing thorough knowledge of cooking preparation and production. Additionally, the Cook supports meal serving and dishwashing when necessary and periodically visits residents to evaluate food service quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance. This feedback is used to make improvements that enhance dining experiences. • High school diploma
• culinary degree preferred
• minimum of one year restaurant or senior living cooking experience
• ability to pass background check and drug screen
• vaccination status may be required
• ability to work full time
