This role is based at the Days Inn Encinitas in Encinitas, California, and offers a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $60,000. The successful candidate will assist the Director of Sales in the creation and execution of marketing, advertising, and sales plans, programs, and the annual budget. The position requires managing expenses within approved budgets and supporting special events and catering teams, particularly for properties in the West Hollywood collection. The role involves participation in trade shows and professional organizations to maintain visibility and achieve sales and revenue goals. Primary responsibilities include meeting or exceeding booking goals in various market segments such as local corporate, incentive groups, military, and government. Coordination of group and transient bookings to maximize profits, active sales solicitation, preparation of reports, and assisting in social media marketing are fundamental parts of the role. The individual will also conduct site inspections, develop competitive strategies, network within community and professional associations, and assist with special promotions. A strong emphasis is placed on properties in Hawaii, highlighting the need for strategic focus in key markets. The ideal candidate possesses a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience and a minimum of three years in a related position with similar companies, demonstrating advanced knowledge of sales, marketing, catering, food and beverage, and hospitality principles and practices. They must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and web analytics tools, with proficiency in Opera considered a plus. Excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential. The ability to handle complex problems, negotiate effectively, and maintain confidentiality is required. The role demands a service-oriented individual who is energetic, outgoing, attentive to detail, capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Travel may be required occasionally for hotel familiarization and content creation. The work schedule aligns primarily with Springboard Hospitality business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional weekend or holiday work as needed.
