This job opportunity is with a restaurant independently owned and operated by a franchisee affiliated with Del Taco, a renowned fast-food restaurant chain known for its quality Mexican-inspired dishes and commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience. As an independently operated establishment, the franchisee manages all employment-related matters, including recruitment, compensation, hiring, and operational decisions, rather than Del Taco LLC itself. This autonomy ensures that the restaurant maintains local relevance while upholding the standards and brand image that customers expect from Del Taco.

The franchise aims to create a welcoming atmosphere with an emphasis on customer service, food quality, and operational efficiency. This position offers a competitive starting salary of $83,200 per year, reflecting the responsibility and skill required to manage a dynamic restaurant environment effectively.
The role of Restaurant Manager is a critical leadership position reporting directly to the Area Director. The successful candidate will be entrusted with the responsibility of protecting and delivering the Del Taco brand experience at the restaurant level. This includes driving sales growth, maximizing operational efficiency, and ensuring the profitability of the location by adhering closely to the Del Taco Way of doing business. The manager will lead by example in cultivating a service-oriented culture, fostering teamwork, and maintaining a high level of staff morale and engagement.
Key responsibilities include fully staffing the restaurant with qualified team members, recruiting and retaining top talent, making sure that all employees are appropriately trained and certified according to company standards, and overseeing daily operations to meet brand standards. The manager plays an instrumental role in nurturing team members' development, evaluating employee performance, and recommending appropriate salary adjustments or disciplinary actions when necessary. Facilities and equipment must be maintained at operational and safety standards to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for both employees and customers.
From a sales perspective, the manager will set sales goals aligned to daily, weekly, and yearly targets while effectively positioning staff to maximize customer service and operational throughput. Increasing customer count, average transaction value, and overall loyalty are essential objectives, as is the execution of marketing promotions and local store initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
Profitability management is another vital component of the role. This includes managing staffing levels in relation to sales, adhering to labor laws, controlling inventory to reduce waste, implementing cash handling procedures, and minimizing costs related to repairs, maintenance, and supplies. The manager will also ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Candidates must be prepared to work in an office and restaurant environment, which involves extended periods of standing and walking, as well as some physical activity such as lifting and bending. The role may require travel within the restaurant's operating area, including overnight stays. A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance are mandatory.
This position is best suited to individuals with excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills who thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting. A high school diploma or equivalent and 3 to 5 years of experience in the quick service or full-service restaurant industry are required. ServSafe certification and fluency in English are necessary, with Spanish language skills considered a plus.
