Within this compelling mission, the Stepping Stones Child Care Center operates as an innovative, 24/7 child development facility providing early childhood care and education to children and families from birth through twelve years of age. Recognizing the diverse and demanding schedules of working families, the center aims to provide a warm, safe, nurturing, and high-quality environment that promotes the healthy growth and development of every child it serves. To support this critical mission, Friends of Switchpoint is seeking both full-time and part-time Childcare Receptionists for morning shifts running from 5:00 am to 11:00 am, with opportunities for cross-training in the classroom.
The role of Childcare Receptionist is integral to the smooth operation of the center and requires a professional and friendly individual who excels at multitasking in a fast-paced environment. This position serves as the first point of contact, welcoming children, families, and guests with warmth and professionalism. The receptionist must be calm under pressure, capable of managing phones, computers, security systems, and intercoms, and can step in as a Director Designee when required. The ideal candidate demonstrates flexibility, teamwork, and an empathetic understanding of young children and their families. They play a vital role in maintaining compliance documentation, handling daily attendance, ordering supplies, and supporting administrative tasks. This position also offers an opportunity to be part of a purpose-driven team dedicated to ending homelessness by supporting families and empowering individuals through quality childcare. Compensation for this position ranges from $15 to $16 per hour depending on experience and qualifications, reflecting the organization's commitment to fair and competitive pay.
- Ability to pass Utah Child Care Licensing Background Check
- Calm and professional under pressure
- Fluent in English, bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Ability to multi-task and manage phones, intercom, and security systems
- Maintain discretion and sound judgment when screening visitors
- Maintain confidentiality of paperwork and records
- Flexible schedule availability including willingness to work morning shifts
- Compliance with Utah Child Care Licensing requirements including preservice and annual training
- Ability to maintain professionalism in appearance and attitude
- Must comply with all organizational policies and procedures
