The role in focus is a Plasma Center Receptionist position located in Houston, TX, at the Richmond Ave facility. This full-time, regular, non-exempt employee position offers an hourly wage starting at $16.00, compliant with local minimum wage regulations. The receptionist serves as the initial point of contact for all visitors, including new and repeat plasma donors, ensuring an exceptional customer service experience and aiding in operational efficiency. Reporting directly to the Plasma Center Manager, the receptionist holds essential administrative responsibilities and patient-facing duties that support the daily plasma center operations.
Key responsibilities of the Plasma Center Receptionist include answering telephone calls promptly, greeting and assisting visitors, managing donor appointments,, and maintaining accurate donor records. This role requires coordinating with the center management team to identify and propose process improvements, fostering a culture of continuous operational enhancement. Employees must display excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with both external donors and internal staff.
Physical requirements are integral to this role, as the receptionist must be able to stand or walk throughout the work shift, perform bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching activities, and occasionally lift up to 32 pounds. Awareness of safety and hygiene is essential due to the potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, necessitating prolonged glove use during many tasks.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to walk and or stand for the entire work shift

- Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees
- Ability to lift 1 to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
- Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance
- Because of potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1), 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove wear
