The Line Cook position at Torchy's is a crucial role in the kitchen, as these cooks are the heart of where the iconic Damn Good food is made each day from scratch. This position requires versatility and skill in multiple cooking stations including frying, grilling, sautéing, steaming, and taco assembly. The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of ingredients across these stations in accordance with Torchy's recipes and standards, ensuring every item meets the high bar of quality and taste that customers expect.
In this role, you’ll master the fry station with expertly cooked, crispy fried items; operate the grill to prepare proteins perfectly; handle sautéing to create flavorful dishes; use steam equipment to maintain appropriate texture and flavor; and assemble tacos that meet the company’s presentation and flavor standards. The position demands attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure to keep up with guest demand during busy periods.
Beyond cooking, the Line Cook is expected to maintain cleanliness and organization of their work station to ensure food safety and sanitation standards. Collaboration with other back-of-house team members is essential to ensure timely and correctly prepared food. The Line Cook will also assist in inventory management, helping stock and organize ingredients to keep the kitchen ready for success.
