The Public Safety Monitor-Front Desk role at Southcoast Health, located at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA, is a vital position within the organization’s mission to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This part-time role requires 32 hours per week, primarily during the day shift from 6:45 am to 3:15 pm, with weekend and holiday rotations. The person in this role acts as the first point of contact for anyone entering the hospital, ensuring that each visitor is authorized and that their needs are appropriately addressed. This role demands a strong focus on customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to think independently and solve problems efficiently. The Public Safety Monitor-Front Desk acts as a community ambassador by welcoming guests with warmth, providing clear directions, managing visitor access, and coordinating assistance for individuals requiring special support. • High school diploma or GED equivalent
• prior security, customer service, or administrative experience a plus
• completion of Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) de-escalation training within 120 days of hire
• fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID 19 virus or exempt by signed statement
• ability to work day shift hours including weekends and holidays
• must be able to perform duties without direct supervision
