The Production and Events Manager position is a full-time, exempt role based at the Orange Park Campus within the Comm Cult Enrich-THCA Performance Art Center department. This position offers a salary range of $53,235.00 to $70,537.00 annually and is classified under Professional Support, Salary Grade 120. The Production and Events Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Thrasher-Horne Center’s technical and event operations. This role involves coordinating and overseeing rental events within the theaters, ensuring seamless execution through effective collaboration with various departments and stakeholders. The individual in this position works closely with the Director of Operations and Production, and assumes senior technical staff responsibilities in their absence. A key aspect of the role is supervising a diverse team that includes staff technicians, stagehands, caterers, security personnel, and custodial staff. This ensures that every event, whether institutional or rental, is conducted smoothly and professionally from planning through execution. The role requires expertise in event management, technical production support, staff coordination, and customer service to meet the high standards of the college’s performance arts center. In addition to managing the technical and operational facets of events, the manager is responsible for handling customer interactions related to rental events, including providing quotes, agreements, and payment processing in adherence to college policies. They also collaborate with front-of-house and box office teams to facilitate the successful advancement of presentations and events. Technical duties encompass setup, operation, and striking of shows, as well as involvement in scenic construction, rigging, carpentry, and painting. The manager assesses technical needs and staffing requirements, works with rental event software system administrators, and may occasionally assist with logistical tasks such as transporting performers, equipment, supplies, or art exhibits. This role demands physical agility including standing for long durations, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working at height. Work environments can be indoors and outdoors, and may involve exposure to dust and noise.
