The Food & Beverage Registered Dietitian (RD) role at McIntosh Care and Rehabilitation Center is a full-time position based on-site with a starting salary of $75,000 per year. The responsibilities extend beyond typical dietary tasks to include safety audits, sanitation oversight, food quality checks, and meal delivery management at the point of service. The Food & Beverage RD will play a crucial part in educating and supporting dietary employees to maintain cleanliness and a safe workplace environment. Interaction with guests and patients is key, as the successful candidate will gather feedback on food and service to tailor dietary preferences accordingly. They will play a monitoring role to ensure that therapeutic and mechanically altered diets are prepared according to standards. Financial acumen is required to oversee weekly operating expenses and ensure adherence to financial objectives.
Organizational duties such as maintaining records and receipts, managing inventory orders, and coordinating employee schedules with assistance from the sous chef are included. The Food & Beverage RD also participates in recruiting efforts by interviewing, hiring, and training new employees and providing ongoing staff training and in-services. Collaboration with the Registered Dietitian team is essential, involving menu and recipe creation, adherence to menu extensions, as well as clinical contributions like assisting with Section K of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and minor clinical tasks.
Communication skills are vital as this role involves working closely with the RD and other department managers to ensure high standards of nutrition service delivery, compliance, and patient care.
