The position of Prep Cook at Grand Living at Indian Creek plays a crucial role in elevating the dining experiences of its residents. Responsible for preparing a variety of food items—including meats, vegetables, potatoes, bread products, and desserts—the Prep Cook is essential in ensuring the highest standards of food quality and portion control are maintained. The role reports to the Executive Chef and operates within a fast-paced, high-quality kitchen environment aligned with strict community standards and culinary excellence. - High School Diploma or GED
- culinary arts or culinary apprenticeship preferred
- one or more years of cooking experience in a fast-paced kitchen preferred
- experience with scratch cooking preferred
- sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
- ability to read, write and understand English
- manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment and utensils
- ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull without extended sitting
- ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- ability to perform functions in varying temperature ranges
