The General Manager (GM) role at Regal is a full-time, salaried leadership position that demands a passionate and inspiring leader to manage the overall theatre operations. The GM is the face of Regal at the theatre, leading and coaching a team to provide outstanding guest experiences while achieving business goals. Responsibilities include overseeing revenue, expenses, profitability, guest satisfaction, inventory control, and employee morale. The role carries the important duty of representing Regal in accordance with its mission and corporate policies while ensuring that all aspects of theatre operations meet company standards for service, presentation, and compliance.
The General Manager is responsible for administering company policies and maintaining cash management procedures, concession inventory, facility cleanliness, and risk management measures. This role also involves hiring, training, developing, supervising, scheduling, and when necessary, terminating employees in coordination with Human Resources. The GM ensures compliance with alcohol certification and training where applicable and supervises staff tasked with projection and audio-visual equipment, requiring a working knowledge of technical systems supporting the theatre experience.
The GM controls operating costs, manages purchasing and inventory, oversees theatre maintenance including minor repairs, and addresses larger maintenance needs with qualified personnel. They actively monitor risk management regarding cast member and guest safety, loss prevention, and emergency procedures. Additionally, the General Manager handles marketing and promotional activities, movie scheduling, guest relations, and the accurate processing of all forms of payment received on a daily business basis.
A successful candidate will bring solid operational management experience, strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to leadership excellence.                 - High school diploma or equivalent
 - Two years of post-secondary education in business or two years of management or supervisory experience
 - Working knowledge of theatre systems including Booth and Projection technology
 - Legal age to sell and serve alcohol according to state or local laws if applicable
 - Completion of required alcohol training and certification
 - Good public speaking and communication skills
 - Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately
 - Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills
 - Proficiency with PC platforms and basic office software
 - Ability to handle office equipment and maintain detail orientation
 - Ability to interface effectively and sensitively with customers and coworkers
 - Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
 - Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well under pressure
 - Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 60 lbs, and perform minor repairs
