The Porter role at Gerber Collision & Glass plays a vital part in supporting the collision repair process by ensuring the cleanliness and presentation of customer vehicles prior to delivery. This position requires attention to detail and pride in maintaining both the vehicles and the shop environment. The Porter is responsible for pre-washing vehicles before repairs begin and cleaning them thoroughly after repairs are complete, presenting each vehicle to customers in pristine condition. Additionally, the Porter helps maintain a clean, organized facility by performing daily housekeeping tasks in both office and production areas, including sweeping, trash removal, and tidying tools and equipment. The role also extends to outdoor maintenance such as keeping parking lots and grounds neat, even shoveling sidewalks when necessary. Transporting vehicles to sublet locations for repairs is another critical responsibility, ensuring a smooth workflow within the repair shop. This position is hourly with a pay range of $14 to $19, reflecting the importance of reliability, multitasking ability, and strong customer service skills.
