The Porter role is a crucial part of the Gerber Collision & Glass team, supporting the quality repair process by maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of customer vehicles before and after repairs, and ensuring the overall tidiness of the facility. This position is an important frontline role that directly impacts customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The position involves responsibilities such as cleaning the interior and exterior of vehicles, keeping the office and production areas neat, and transporting vehicles for additional repairs to sublet locations when necessary. The Porter helps drive the WOW Operating Way, Gerber's unique approach focused on creating exceptional customer experiences. The role requires strong attention to detail, good multitasking abilities, and a proactive attitude toward maintaining workplace safety and cleanliness. Gerber offers this role as a full-time position with competitive pay ranging from $15 to $18 or more per hour depending on experience. 
In addition to daily cleaning and vehicle preparation tasks, Porters at Gerber Collision & Glass play a key part in supporting the smooth workflow of the repair shop. They empty waste bins, sweep floors, manage vehicle parts disposal, and organize tools and equipment to keep production efficient. Outdoor responsibilities include maintaining parking lots and grounds, such as shoveling sidewalks during winter. Automotive experience is preferred but not required, making this an excellent entry-level opportunity to join a dynamic and reputable company in the automotive repair industry. The role requires physical stamina including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, operate a motor vehicle, and perform various physical activities like stooping, kneeling, and walking for extended periods.
