This role focuses on elevator operation and facility support within ICE's conference and event centers located at 11 Wall and 18 Broad Street in New York. The elevator operator will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and professional elevator services for a diverse client base including daily bell groups, client meetings, VIP guests, and executive officers. Beyond operating passenger elevators, the position requires significant interaction with clients and internal stakeholders, making professionalism and communication skills essential. The elevator operator must also be adept at interpreting elevator and room reservation schedules to provide accurate information and guide guests to the appropriate locations throughout the building. This involves close coordination with conference and event spaces on multiple floors, including the organization and arrangement of furniture and special equipment. The role includes responsibilities such as maintaining cleanliness in designated areas, responding to emergency situations like spills or leaks, managing snow or ice removal near building entrances, and assisting with freight elevator operations during equipment or delivery loads. Candidates must demonstrate physical capability to move or lift bulky items up to 75 pounds safely, adhering to proper lifting techniques to avoid injury. The operator should also maintain supply bins and storage areas in an orderly condition, contributing to a safe and efficient work environment. The job may require occasional overtime to support event schedules and emergency situations. The position is ideal for individuals with a high school diploma or equivalent, who possess at least six months of related experience. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to follow directions carefully are vital. A presentable appearance and the ability to act as a welcoming face for the company are important in this role, which interfaces daily with both internal teams and external clients navigating the conference center. The base salary range for this role in New York is between $53,177 and $67,109 USD. This compensation range excludes ICE's incentive compensation but represents competitive pay for this level of responsibility and expertise.
