The People Operations Leader role is a critical leadership position based in the hybrid corporate office environment located in Arcadia, California. This position offers an annual salary range of $190,000 to $245,000, with compensation dependent on experience and relevant expertise. The People Operations Leader will direct the People Operations team, overseeing the People Support Center (shared services), HR technology, and compliance programs. Serving as a vital link between team members, company leadership, and operational functions, this role ensures the seamless execution of all core HR processes and initiatives. With a focus on continuous improvement, the Leader will enhance systems supporting a growing multi-unit, multi-location environment characterized by high-volume operations. Responsibilities for this role encompass day-to-day leadership of team member lifecycle services, including onboarding, offboarding, HRIS transactions, and team data integrity, thereby ensuring accuracy and excellent team member experiences. The leader will also serve as the functional head for HR systems, partnering with IT to strategize system integration and upgrades that promote scalability and compliance. Benefits administration and leave of absence programs will be managed in coordination with Total Rewards and People Experience teams. Ensuring compliance with employment laws across jurisdictions and mitigating risks through policy governance and audit support are pivotal functions. Additionally, the People Operations Leader will collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, IT, and Operations teams to align people initiatives with business goals, leveraging data and analytics to provide actionable insights through workforce dashboards and reporting. This role requires a strategic yet hands-on approach to process improvements, workflow automation, and enhanced employee and manager self-service capabilities. The People Operations Leader plays a key role in maintaining Din Tai Fung’s commitment to workplace excellence, compliance, and the promotion of a culture of continuous growth and development.
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in business or related discipline and/or 10+ years of progressive HR, People Operations, or Employee Shared Services leadership experience
  • Multi-unit or multi-location organizational experience
  • Experience in hospitality, restaurant, retail, or other high-volume, hourly workforces
  • Demonstrated expertise with HR technology platforms including HRIS, ATS, payroll systems
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance requirements
  • Prior ownership of HR technology roadmaps and implementations
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into business insights
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to problem solve and create business solutions
  • Ability to communicate and influence stakeholders effectively using data and business facts
  • Excellent handle of People metrics and ability to craft insightful reports
  • Effective project manager capable of leading and delivering multiple projects on schedule
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead multiple direct reports
