The role of Agent Cargo at WFS is fundamental to the company’s operations. This position is tasked with a wide array of responsibilities that are vital to the seamless processing and handling of cargo shipments. The Agent Cargo manages computer data entry, prepares all necessary flight documents, and works closely with U.S. Customs to ensure compliance with pertinent regulations. This role requires attention to detail and an understanding of both import and export documentation, facilitating the acceptance and distribution of cargo in line with air carrier and Department of Transportation regulations. The Agent Cargo position is also instrumental in supporting the company’s sales efforts by compiling customer lists for potential sales leads, interacting with customers to complete sales transactions, quoting prices, and preparing contracts for orders secured. Additionally, the Agent Cargo estimates delivery dates for customers based on the company’s delivery schedules, ensuring clear communication and customer satisfaction. Physically, this role demands the capability to move cargo items weighing up to 70 pounds and requires strict adherence to WFS site security protocols. The Agent Cargo must remain vigilant regarding security activities on-site, immediately reporting any breaches, suspicious behavior, or non-compliance issues to management or through WFS’s whistleblower program. This role involves the operation of various cargo handling equipment and requires the incumbent to be punctual, reliable, and able to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and days off. Working in a fast-paced environment, the Agent Cargo plays a key role in supporting the operational success and safety standards that WFS upholds across all its service locations.
