The Porter role at Asset Living is a vital part of the property maintenance team, responsible for supporting various maintenance tasks to ensure properties are safe, clean, and visually appealing. This position is full-time and hourly, with a salary rate of $16.00 per hour. The Porter assists with performing corrective, preventative, routine, and cosmetic maintenance under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager. Responsibilities include regular attendance, daily cleaning, trash removal, and maintaining the grounds, buildings, and common areas such as breezeways and community spaces. The Porter responds to resident and management requests and work orders promptly, ensures timely completion of necessary repairs, and helps uphold safety standards by inspecting property features and identifying hazards.
This role requires a hands-on approach to maintaining a well-organized maintenance shop, adhering to OSHA guidelines and safety practices, and promoting safe work habits. The Porter participates in unit inspections, reports rule violations, and makes efficient use of property resources. Additionally, this role involves being part of the community’s on-call emergency response team. Customer service plays a significant part in the role as well; Porters are expected to maintain positive interactions with residents and project a favorable image of the community. The position demands someone who can work outdoors and navigate various physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects and operating equipment in different weather conditions.
