The role of Operations Manager at Hyatt Place Pasadena is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations across multiple hotel departments. Reporting directly to the Hotel General Manager, this position demands an individual who can inspire and guide staff while ensuring operational efficiency and exceptional guest satisfaction. The Operations Manager supports department heads of Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering/Maintenance, and Food & Beverage to maintain smooth workflow, adherence to standard operating procedures, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
This role is designed not only to manage operational aspects but also to focus on employee development, training, and fostering a professional, motivated team environment. The Operations Manager assists in financial reporting and operational goal-setting to drive profitability, balancing revenue generation with cost control. The position is salaried, manager exempt, and bonus eligible, with an expected work schedule of 40 to 50 hours weekly over five days including flexibility on weekends and holidays. Key responsibilities include supervising daily hotel operations to ensure service excellence in alignment with Hyatt and Ensemble standards, collaborating with department leaders to support staff management, enforcing safety and compliance requirements, spearheading training initiatives across departments, and actively participating in hotel performance meetings. This role also requires visible leadership during peak times to engage with guests and provide hands-on assistance. The successful candidate will bring at least 1 to 2 years of management or supervisory experience, excellent communication skills, and strong organizational abilities. Familiarity with hotel operations software such as OPERA PMS is preferred, and bilingual skills in English and Spanish are advantageous.
