The Food Runner role at our hotel is pivotal in ensuring an excellent dining experience for members and guests alike. This position involves anticipating guest needs and delivering food and beverage items with professionalism and efficiency. The Food Runner supports servers by presenting menus, answering questions, making food and beverage suggestions, and ensuring that all orders from the kitchen are accurate and adequately prepared with the necessary condiments and sides. Serving guests promptly while maintaining a friendly and enthusiastic demeanor is a key responsibility, embodying the hotel's commitment to exceptional service. This role demands a high level of multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment, with physical tasks such as lifting trays, kegs, and cases up to 50 pounds, and working in various weather conditions, especially as some duties may occur outdoors. Candidates must exhibit a professional appearance and communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and management. Knowledge of the menu, alcoholic beverages, daily specials, and out-of-stock items is essential to provide informed assistance during service. • High school diploma or equivalent required unless currently enrolled
• Minimum of one year previous experience as a server or server assistant in an upscale restaurant, hotel/resort or private club environment preferred
• Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service including alcohol awareness certification preferred
• Must be able to work in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions
• Must have professional appearance
• Must be able to effectively multitask in an extremely fast paced environment
• Must be able to comply with standards of responsible alcohol service
• Must be physically able to safely lift and carry trays, kegs and cases weighing up to 50lbs several times during the course of a shift
• Must be physically able to climb, lift, reach, bend and stoop
• Must be able to work in a standing position and walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with guest, co-workers and management
