The role available is a Safety Sensitive Equipment Operator position, where the primary responsibility is the safe and efficient operation of equipment used for the movement of packages, documents, heavyweight freight, dangerous goods, and unit load devices (ULDs). The operator plays a crucial role in the logistics chain by assisting in the buildup and breakdown of pallets containing heavyweight freight, ensuring the secure handling and transportation of goods. This position acts as a liaison between FedEx and ULD repair vendors as necessary, facilitating communication and equipment maintenance. This job requires physical stamina and strength, including the ability to lift significant weights, maneuver packages in various conditions, and work in diverse environments such as enclosed spaces and different weather conditions. It is also essential to have the ability to work safely and alertly while operating motorized conveyances, which requires possessing a valid driver’s license. The employment type is full-time, with a pay range of $21.59 to $27.74 per hour, reflecting the importance of skills and safety in this role. Employees in this position undergo basic and recurring training to maintain high safety standards and operational efficiency. This is a non-covered safety sensitive position, and candidates must pass a drug screening.
