The role available at Woodlark Hotel is that of a Lead Bartender, a pivotal position within the restaurant and food service category. Available both full-time and part-time, this role offers an hourly wage ranging from $19.00 to $20.00. The lead bartender is responsible for providing friendly, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service to all guests, ensuring quality presentation and customer satisfaction. This position is a leadership role that involves supervising beverage staff during shifts and supporting key management personnel including the Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Chef, and Food & Beverage Manager in delivering seamless service operations.
The Lead Bartender will oversee various aspects of the bar operations including preparing high-quality cocktails at volume using proper techniques, taking both beverage and food orders, and engaging customers with menu insights and product suggestions. Leadership responsibilities further extend to directing craft spirit, wine, and beer programs, creating craft cocktail menus with an emphasis on classical mixology methods, and working closely with management to control beverage costs effectively. Maintaining proper service standards, enforcing alcohol beverage control protocols, and training the bartending team on service, product knowledge, and technique are core to this role.
Inventory control, including restocking, replenishing bar supplies, and maintaining cleanliness standards throughout shifts, also falls under the remit of the lead bartender. The role requires careful handling of cash, credit card, and room transactions with accuracy, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements such as verifying customer identification and refusing service to minors or intoxicated persons. The lead bartender additionally supports vendor relationship management and contributes to deep cleaning and safety oversight within the bar environment.
Physical demands of this role include the ability to work in varied temperature conditions ranging from cold freezers to hot kitchens, standing and moving continuously for several hours, and physically managing equipment and inventory weighing up to 250 lbs. The job requires excellent communication skills, leadership capability, attention to detail, and proficiency in using basic computer systems including Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, and POS. Experience in high volume bar environments is essential, with preference given to candidates with supervisory experience and familiarity with Micros systems.

- Three years high volume bar or food service experience
- Supervisory or lead bartender experience preferred
- Safe Server Alcohol & Food Handlers certification required
