The role of Receiving Agent within the h.wood Group is vital for maintaining the seamless operation of kitchen and food service areas across its establishments. The Receiving Agent is primarily responsible for inspecting incoming food deliveries, verifying the quantities and types of goods received, and ensuring that all products meet strict quality standards. Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount, as the position involves updating inventory records to reflect accurate stock levels critical for kitchen operations. A well-organized and clean environment is maintained by appropriately storing goods in designated areas and managing workspace cleanliness throughout shifts.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about food and hospitality and possess a positive, team-oriented attitude. This role requires effective communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal staff to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to deliveries. Additionally, the Receiving Agent handles the processing of returns for damaged or incorrect shipments and reports such discrepancies to management for timely resolution. Safe and efficient operation of standard kitchen equipment is also expected as part of daily duties. - Must have 2-3 years on food and beverage industry or related
- Must have at least 1 year experience in a high-volume environment
- Must be 18+ years of age
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to work in hot/cold and/or wet areas
- Must be able to stand during entire shift often up to 8 hours with frequent bending squatting and lifting plates boxes and objects up to 30lbs
- Must have a strong understanding of restaurant health and safety regulations
- Attentive and detail oriented
