As the Kitchen Manager and Lead Chef, you will lead a team in preparing nutritious, delicious meals in accordance with strict dietary guidelines and health regulations. This role demands a knowledgeable leader with at least five years of experience in kitchen management and food preparation, ideally within healthcare or residential settings. The Kitchen Manager and Lead Chef will be hands-on in maintaining an efficient kitchen environment, supervising the staff, and managing inventory as well as compliance with health and safety standards such as those mandated by the Department of Health (DOH) and OSHA. A certified Food Handler with the necessary qualifications, such as a NYC Department of Health Food Handler certificate and ServSafe certification, is required to ensure proper handling and sanitation protocols. Beyond operational duties, this position requires strong leadership skills to train and mentor food service staff, foster professional development, and ensure that all team members adhere to both internal policies and external regulations.
