This Housekeeper position is a classified, part of the Custodial Services Department. The role entails performing routine manual labor and additional responsibility of housekeeping and hosting duties specifically for the University President and the President's family within their residence. The position requires a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends to meet the needs of events and daily maintenance. The Housekeeper works primarily under the direct supervision of the President and spouse, with nominal supervision from the Facilities Services Administrative Coordinator, ensuring the upkeep and smooth operation of the President’s residence. Key responsibilities of the Housekeeper include maintaining cleanliness and order throughout the residence by sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning floors, carpets, windows, walls, and fixtures. The incumbent is also responsible for trash removal, replenishing bathroom supplies, and performing minor repairs to the building or equipment following University standards. A critical part of the role involves supporting events hosted at the President's residence including receptions and dinners, requiring coordination for furniture setup and cleanup afterward. Additionally, the Housekeeper answers and redirects telephone calls and inquiries on behalf of the President’s household. The position demands a minimum of three years residential housekeeping experience, with preference given to candidates with five years or more. A high school diploma or its equivalency is required.
