Currently, The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Host/Hostess to join their distinguished team. This role is crucial as it serves as the first point of contact for guests dining within the hotel’s remarkable dining venues. The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting guests warmly, seating them efficiently, and ensuring they feel welcomed and comfortable from the moment they enter the dining area. This position requires a friendly demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage seating arrangements effectively, including for groups with special needs. The role involves tasks such as moving and arranging tables and chairs, ensuring place settings are correct, maintaining the cleanliness and order of menus and dining areas, and monitoring guest needs throughout their dining experience. In addition, the Host/Hostess will be expected to adhere to the rigorous performance standards set by the Forbes Five-Star designation, which means providing impeccable service that exceeds guest expectations consistently. They will communicate any special meal requirements, allergies, or dietary needs to the relevant colleagues, assist in closing duties such as restocking and cleaning, and report any maintenance or safety concerns. The role demands professionalism, discretion, and a strong knowledge of The Post Oak’s services. It also requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a positive and courteous attitude, all contributing to a seamless and memorable guest experience. This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $17.00 and requires flexibility in scheduling, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include the ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance, and assist with heavier objects over 50 pounds, along with the stamina to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. • High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years of restaurant or hotel experience preferred
• previous hotel or luxury experience preferred
