At Sacramento International Airport, HMSHost is currently seeking a Pantry Assistant to join its team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen and food preparation operations by ensuring that various food products are prepared efficiently, safely, and up to company standards. The Pantry Assistant is responsible for handling food products with great care, following proper food handling procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. This is a non-exempt role that reports directly to the Cook and requires strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately. The Pantry Assistant performs essential functions such as following recipes and product directions, transferring supplies and equipment, operating kitchen utensils and equipment for tasks like weighing, mixing, peeling, cutting, and assembling food products. Additionally, this role involves receiving and inventorying food and beverage supplies, cleaning and sanitizing the work area, and ensuring all food handling safety standards are met including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and temperature checking. The position demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift or push objects weighing over 40 pounds and the ability to bend, twist, and stand for the duration of the shift.
