The role of Event Coordinator at Michaels, particularly at the Burlington, NJ store, is a vital position focused on creating enjoyable and memorable experiences for guests of all ages within the retail environment. This role is tasked with planning, coordinating, and facilitating in-store events including children’s birthday parties, craft classes, and other creative engagements. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service by guiding customers in shopping, providing product solutions, and ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout experience. The position also includes operational responsibilities such as truck unloading, merchandise replenishment, and maintaining store recovery standards to reflect the brand's promise of quality and creativity.
The Event Coordinator plays an interactive and hands-on role in both the customer experience and event execution. This includes engaging with clients ranging from 4 to 94 years old and making every event fun, creative, and stress-free. Responsibilities include demonstrating craft project techniques, face painting, handling party add-ons like goody bags and balloons, and effectively communicating event details with clients and store team members. The role demands excellent organizational skills to manage multiple events simultaneously and to adjust plans according to client feedback. Beyond event planning, this position requires maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the store before and after events, thereby ensuring a welcoming environment.
Customer service duties are equally important and include educating customers on company programs such as the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards, assisting with omnichannel processes like Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPIS), and Ship From Store (SFS). The coordinator will also participate actively in day-to-day retail operations including stocking, merchandise recovery, store cleanliness, and contributing to safety and shrink prevention programs.
