The Guest Service Agent role is a critical entry-level position within HHM Hotels dedicated to providing warm, efficient, and professional service to guests at the front desk. This role involves greeting guests upon arrival, processing registrations, managing room assignments, and facilitating smooth check-in and check-out procedures. Guest Service Agents serve as the face of the hotel, ensuring that every guest interaction meets the brand’s hospitality and sustainability standards. Guest Service Agents are responsible for handling reservations, managing guest payment methods, and ensuring accurate billing. The role requires strong communication skills to transmit and receive messages using the hotel’s property management system (PMS) and telephones. Responding promptly and effectively to guest requests, managing complaints by escalating to supervisors when needed, and securing guest valuables are key responsibilities. Agents also participate in bookkeeping activities such as balancing accounts and conducting audits to maintain financial accuracy. Maintaining a safe work environment with adherence to OSHA and MSDS guidelines is mandatory.
Additional duties include assisting in the breakfast area and helping guests with luggage during peak times or when additional staffing is required. Agents are expected to be aware of guest satisfaction scores and actively work towards enhancing the overall guest experience. This position requires a commitment to excellent customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work varied schedules, including holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts. Physical aspects of the role involve standing for extended periods, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
