The role of Group Sales Manager for Association, Government, and some Corporate Business meetings is a vital position within Delaware North’s Sales team, based primarily in the Sacramento or Bay Areas with an expectation of occasional travel to the resort near Yosemite. This remote role allows flexibility while requiring proximity to the property to support some on-site engagement. The Group Sales Manager will be instrumental in driving group sales efforts, focusing on attracting and maintaining business from associations and government sectors, as well as select corporate clients. Account management will be central to the role, ensuring revenue targets are met across rooms, food and beverage, and ancillary services. Responsibilities include soliciting new business, entertaining clients, and nurturing long-lasting relationships to maximize overall revenue.
Success in this position requires a strategic and creative sales approach combined with excellent relationship-building skills. The Group Sales Manager will proactively generate leads through sales presentations, client prospecting, site inspections, business travel, and networking efforts. Working collaboratively with hotel operations, revenue management, and food and beverage teams is essential to synchronize efforts and deliver seamless guest experiences. The position demands a keen understanding of the Meetings and Events market, with a preferred background in the Association market. Strong communication and presentation skills are necessary to engage different management levels and successfully promote the resort’s offerings.
