The Ramp Agent role at Alliance Ground International is a vital position responsible for providing efficient ground support to ensure flights operate safely and on schedule. Ramp Agents work outdoors in a fast-paced environment and are heavily focused on safety. The job entails guiding aircraft to and from gates, handling passenger baggage, cargo, and mail, and operating specialized ground equipment like belt loaders, pushback tugs, and deicers. The role requires meticulous attention to safeguarding customer property from damage, loss, and adverse weather. Ramp Agents also assist in cleaning aircraft cabins and restocking supplies between flights to ensure a smooth transition for boarding passengers.
In addition to performing hands-on handling duties, Ramp Agents maintain thorough records, complete paperwork related to cargo and baggage movements, and adhere strictly to company protocols and airport security regulations. They are expected to be ready to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical stamina and strength are essential to manage lifting heavy items frequently, maneuvering in confined spaces, and enduring all types of weather conditions. Clear communication, basic math, problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate radio and computer systems are key competencies for this position.
