The position of General Manager in Training at Life Time is a prestigious leadership opportunity designed for individuals aspiring to excel in health and fitness management. As a General Manager in Training, you will collaborate closely with the club’s current General Manager or Senior General Manager to steer the club’s overall operations and strategic direction. Your responsibilities will be vital in ensuring the club achieves its financial objectives while maintaining exceptional standards of customer service, sales, and team member relations. You will play an instrumental role in managing in-center business performance and enhancing member participation to create a memorable experience for every guest. This role includes enrollment in the comprehensive General Manager Certification program offered by Life Time Education, which combines theoretical training with practical, on-the-job learning. You will receive direct mentorship and support from the club's General Manager and Area Director, gaining hands-on experience in managing a team that ranges from 150 to 300 members. Leadership, motivation, and continuous development of department managers will be among your core functions as you uphold The Life Time Way expectations and foster a culture of accountability and excellence. As the club ambassador, you will be responsible for representing Life Time’s values, ensuring all areas of the club reflect cleanliness, organization, and readiness to welcome members. You will also be deeply involved in financial management activities such as budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring departmental expenses, supplies, and payroll. The role demands strong analytical skills to study Net Satisfaction Scores and feedback to optimize member experience continuously. By guiding department managers through training, performance assessments, and feedback, you will facilitate their professional growth and the overall success of the club. This position offers a competitive salary starting at $106,400 and up to $146,300, complemented by bonus and commission pay based on performance metrics as well as eligibility for class pay, making it an exciting opportunity for career advancement in the fitness industry.
  • high school graduate or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience in the fitness, hospitality or retail industry
  • 2 years of management experience
  • understanding of computer software such as microsoft excel and word
