The role of Full-time Cook at The Lighthouse, located at 17600 Arbor Street in Omaha, NE, presents an exceptional opportunity to contribute directly to the care and comfort of long-term care residents by preparing nutritious, wholesome meals tailored to their needs. This position requires a dedication to food safety, quality control, and efficient kitchen management as a vital part of the care team. The cook will work five days a week, from Thursday through Monday, during the hours of 10:30 am to 7:00 pm, including holidays, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. Compensation for this role can be up to $19.68 per hour, with pay based on experience, certifications, skills, and education.
The Full-time Cook will be responsible for preparing, distributing, and storing all foods in accordance with Immanuel's departmental policies and safety procedures. The role requires attention to portion control, maintaining inventory, record keeping, and preparing special functions, all while minimizing waste and maximizing kitchen efficiency. The position also requires cooperatively working with managers and possibly acting as a backup for the Team Lead to ensure smooth kitchen operations. The successful candidate will have at least one year of cooking experience, preferably in a long-term care setting, and will have familiarity with industrial-grade professional food service equipment. A Food Handler certificate and Serve Safe certification are preferred but not mandatory.
