This part-time, benefit-eligible position involves working an 8-hour or less variable shift and is housed within the Food & Nutrition Services department. Food Services Workers may be assigned to various areas such as the dishroom, cold food production, patient host duties, cook's helper, or retail services depending on the needs of the department. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and delivery of food services to patients, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, assisting with food preparation, hosting patients by taking meal preferences, and operating cashier functions at retail food service locations. The role demands a strong commitment to food safety, sanitation, and customer service practices while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency. Workers support meal tray assembly, verify dietary requirements, and help manage inventory and catering events. The role requires effective communication skills, the ability to follow instructions precisely, and the physical capability to perform cleaning and food transport tasks.
