The Food Services Specialist role at SpaceX is a key part of the SpaceX Hospitality team, which serves employees, customers, government partners, potential clients, and visitors with snacks, daily meals, and full-service events. This temporary position, based in Brownsville, TX, is designed for individuals who flourish in fast-moving, collaborative environments and who possess a strong foundation in customer service and food safety principles. The role involves a wide array of responsibilities, including operating vital food and beverage equipment, fulfilling orders promptly, maintaining cleanliness, supporting catering and events, and managing inventory. The specialist must demonstrate flexibility by adapting to task changes on short notice based on staffing and business needs. As a Food Services Specialist, you will directly contribute to SpaceX's core mission by providing excellent customer service, creating a welcoming dining atmosphere, and ensuring quality food and beverage production that enhances employee morale and productivity. The role requires a proactive and self-motivated individual who can uphold high standards of sanitation and safety and work both independently and with a team. Responsibilities range from maintaining workstation cleanliness and setting up dining and working stations to engaging with guests and supporting event logistics. This position is temporary, lasting approximately three months, and requires the ability to work long shifts, including weekends, holidays, and potential overtime. Candidates should have at least a high school diploma or equivalency and experience in food preparation or customer service. Preferred qualifications include three or more years in food services, effective communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of food safety and allergen awareness, and familiarity with corporate environments and service styles. The position also mandates physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle heavy lifting. Additionally, candidates must meet ITAR requirements as specified by U.S. government regulations, ensuring eligibility to work at SpaceX.
