The role of Assistant Pastry Chef is a vital position within DO & CO's New York team, offering an incredible opportunity to contribute to a leading force in the gourmet entertainment industry. As an Assistant Pastry Chef, you will be an integral part of the culinary team, executing pastry and bakery items with precision and creativity under the guidance of the Pastry Chef and Executive Chef. Your responsibilities will include baking and preparing pastry items according to detailed recipes and specifications, ensuring excellent quality control and maintaining strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
In this fast-paced, high-volume production environment, the Assistant Pastry Chef must be proactive and highly organized, possessing a solid understanding of baking ingredients, measuring techniques, mixing methods, kitchen equipment usage, and appropriate baking times. The ability to manage multiple stations efficiently, complete assigned tasks within strict deadlines, and maintain cleanliness and organization at all times is crucial. The role also involves monitoring product wastage carefully to optimize resource use and adhering to all food safety regulations as outlined in the food safety management system.  - Minimum of 2 years of relevant pastry or bakery experience
 - Strong understanding of baking processes and kitchen equipment
