The role of a Banquet Cook at ASM Global’s Tucson Convention Center is essential to the seamless execution of banquet and event services. This position requires a dedicated culinary professional skilled in preparing meals in a fast-paced, full-service kitchen environment. The Banquet Cook will be responsible for fulfilling Banquet Event Orders with precision, creativity, and adherence to health and safety standards. Responsibilities include the preparation and presentation of buffet food, cooking various meats to health code standards, measuring and mixing ingredients accurately, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in food preparation and storage areas. This role demands a commitment to teamwork and open communication with kitchen supervisors and executive chefs to ensure high-quality food service and customer satisfaction. The job also calls for strict compliance with sanitation and health regulations and involves physically demanding tasks such as standing and lifting for extended periods. Employees must come to work on time, in proper uniform, and demonstrate initiative and professionalism in all duties. This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities but is a key contributor to the collective success of the culinary team within the highly active environment of the Tucson Convention Center. Candidates must possess a valid Food Handlers Card and exhibit abilities such as creativity in food presentation, attention to detail, and the capacity to work well under pressure and alongside other staff members. • High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 1-3 years experience preparing meals in a full-service kitchen
• Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as dictated by events
• Ability to work with other staff members in the facility
• Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks
• Must be able to follow direction given by the Kitchen Supervisor and Executive Chef
• Must fill out all HACCP Control paperwork as directed
