The role of Patient Food Service Attendant at Baptist Health is both vital and multi-faceted, focusing on the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of patients and guests. This role involves preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals that meet rigorous standards of quality, service, infection control, and food safety. The individual will ensure stock supplies arrive efficiently to patient floor kitchens, maintain positive guest relations by serving with professionalism and care, and replenish used foods and supplies to keep dining areas fully operational. Sanitation duties are a fundamental part of daily responsibilities, along with dish room tasks as assigned, ensuring hygienic and well-maintained food service environments. In addition to patient meal service, the Food Service Attendant will also handle cash transactions for guest trays and food sales in the hospital cafeteria, strictly following established policies and procedures. This role supports various other dining outlets including corporate retail, catering services, and specialty areas such as the Doctors Dining Room. Additional duties include setting up and serving meals, decorating buffet and reception tables, and supporting coworkers to ensure high standards of food preparation and service are consistently met. This position is entry-level and ideal for candidates with less than one year of experience who possess a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent training. Compensation for this role ranges between $16.00 and $16.75 per hour, depending on experience. Successful candidates must obtain Food Safety Certification within 90 days of employment and demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
