This position is part-time and non-management at the New York Marriott Downtown, offering an hourly wage ranging from $32.36 to $43.15. The role primarily focuses on food and beverage preparation, specifically related to banquet and buffet services. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting dishes and trays appropriately for banquets, organizing and operating food stations, processing buffet meat cuts per guest requests, and maintaining adequate supplies for banquet and buffet service. They will also operate various kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, microwaves, and fryers to prepare dishes following strict recipes and quality standards. Additional duties include preparing ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, weighing and mixing ingredients, and ensuring proper hygiene throughout the workspace. This role involves continuous monitoring of food quality, cooking completion, and presentation standards. The candidate will also be tasked with cleaning and disinfecting the kitchen area, utensils, knives, and equipment, complying with company safety policies, and maintaining a professional appearance. Physical demands include standing, walking, stretching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Communications within the team must be clear and professional while supporting team goals to achieve high service quality.
