The role of Executive Director of Conference and Event Services at Lasell University is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the strategic management and operational execution of the institution's wide range of events, conferences, and external rentals. This full-time staff position offers a competitive salary range of $82,000 to $90,000 annually. The Executive Director plays a critical role in shaping the university's public engagements by ensuring that all events uphold Lasell's standards of excellence and align closely with institutional goals and branding. This involves overseeing complex logistical arrangements, enhancing client relations, and driving revenue through innovative marketing and operational strategies.
The Executive Director will lead a dedicated team, including a Manager of Conference and Event Services and student employees, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes service excellence and continuous improvement. They will manage department budgets, pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and vendor relationships to ensure financial and operational efficiency. Additionally, the role demands close collaboration with multiple university departments such as Facilities, Dining Services, IT, Campus Police, and Housekeeping to guarantee seamless event delivery.
Beyond operational oversight, the Executive Director will also leverage technology to optimize event management processes and utilize data analytics to improve services and inform decision-making. This leadership position requires excellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills, as well as proficiency in various software applications. A bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for candidates holding a master's degree and prior experience in higher education event management systems such as EMS or 25Live.

- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business administration, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in event or conference services preferably in a higher education setting
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
- Keen attention to detail

- Proficient use of spreadsheet applications such as Excel or Google Sheets
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
